Trip to Mae Haad Beach

Mae Haad Beach

The walk to the beach
We took an afternoon trip to the beach... had a wonderful hour long Thai massage for $6 and enjoyed a bit of snorkeling / swimming in the ocean.  This is the life... I might never want to leave...
The pace of life is slow.... How can you ever be upset if you have a beautiful view in front of you and a thai massage on the beach just a quick walk away.
A storm is brewing....

My Bungalow by the Sea

The evening view

My bungalow!
My stray pup friend
So I made it to the Island and I am staying in the cutest bungalow next door to Amber.  We are on a cliff over looking Choluklum Bay.  I wake up to the sun and at night we can watch the moon rise over the mountain across the bay.  So far I have had a few visitors including a stray dog, a couple small geckos and one really big lizard who we call "Gary's".  The stray pup is the hardest to see they are so hungry and my lil visitor is so sweet she is always waggin her tail. If I lived here I would want to adopt all the strays...most of the westerns who stay here adopt and take care of the kitties the dogs mostly are wild are local Thai's dogs.  My home by the sea is amazing an only $15 a night.. can't beat that!!

Koh Samui to Koh Phangan

So happy!!
Koh Samui Airport
The Koh Samui Airport is the cutest airport around.  So quaint and the people are so friendly.  After I got my luggage I took the longest craziest mini bus ride ever... I actually questioned if I was being taken to the right place at one point... and they drive insanely here.  on the opposite side of the car and the road, and like bats out of hell.  Passing people almost hitting people on motor bikes... and at times the there are 2 - 4 people on the motor bike.  I saw a woman with three children on a moped.  But thankfully I made it safe to the boat and Amber and Anthony (oh and they had a fresh coconut waiting for me...YUMMY). We took a 30 min beautiful boat ride to the island they stay on, then about a 20 min motor bike ride to their amazing place overlooking the water!  I have officially arrived in Paradise... and may never come home!!

Flight to Bangkok

Hong Kong Airport
So it has taken me a few days to get situated but now I can recap my days so far.... The Hong Kong Airport was very nice.  I was a bit intimated but then realized everything is actually done in english.  It is the universal language.  The view from the airport was amazing.  The flight from HKG to BKK was pretty easy about 2 1/2 hours adn eh food was the best so far.
1st of yummy fruit...more to come!
I had rice noodles with Shiitake Chicken served with some yummy beautiful fruit and the usual croissant and yog-hurt.  I also appreciated the Guilin Chili Sauce to spice it up a bit.  After all of his i finally make it to BangKok and get thru immigration pretty easy and now have my Visa.

Flight to HKG

So so the flight wasn't as bad as one may think.  I slept a bit... tried to watch Hot Tub Time Machine...fell asleep (probably cause it was a bad choice in movie). But overall it flew by.  Now I am sitting in the HKG airport enjoying the free Wi Fi.  I snapped a few shots on the flight...

The first meal was Braised Beef with Shiitake mushroom sauce, spinach mashed potatoes, peas and carrots...with a roll... smoked salmon and potato salad and cheese cake.  Quite the combo.

Snack on the plane was.... Cup o Noodle! I haven't had this in forever... not to shabby!
Breakfast... In that bag there was a Croissant with ham and egg... but when I woke up from my Ambien sleep I ate it... then realized I for got to take my picture... it tasted like a croissant but sure didn't look like one... I though about asking the guy next to me if I could have a photo shot with his... but that might of been strange.  It also came with "yoghurt" thats how they spelt it.  I think I will from now one go with Yog - Hurt.
I am pretty sure I gain 5 pounds on the flight cause i Ambien snacked the whole time... I shouldn't be trusted with food when bored.

Next stop BangKok!

Leave in 4 1/2 days!!!

I am a bit nervous... and a lot excited.  I leave tuesday night.... for a traveling marathon.  I think I am most nervous of all of the traveling to get there. I leave phoenix and take a short trip to LAX.  Then get there ( i bought this ticket  separate so it is not a connecting flight) will need to get my luggage and venture to the  international side...check my bags and then I take a  14hour 40min flight to Hong Kong.... where I will hang out for 4 hours...then off to Bangkok I go which is only a 3hour flight.  Once I am in to Bangkok I will have to get my Visa and go thru customs and all of that fun stuff... then I am off to find where I get on my small flight to the island of Koh Samui.  This flight is only 1 1/2 hours but by this time I will have been in and airport or on a plane for the last 30 hours.  This is quite an adventure for me!  Once I am on Koh Samui my wonderful friend Amber will have gotten us a hotel so I can just take a cab to the hotel.  My final destination is actually the island  Koh Phangan but it takes a boat ride to get there and I would of had to wait 3 hours from the time I arrived to the island to get on that boat... no thanks.  So we plan to take the boat the next morning.  All of these travel adventures are oh so worth it because this trip is going to be amazing

12 days to go...

Well the count down is on full force.  Getting all of the last things taken care of.  Still a few new purchases need to be made.  I am struggling with what sleeve or case to buy for my Macbook.  They all have pros and cons... sometimes I think I over research and then making a decision is even harder.  I can't wait to go. Only 12 more days...
